I am Seattle photographer Chad Lyons
I primarily shoot candid, street style portraits. I am extremely passionate about my work and typically photograph people who strike me as unique and with a story to tell.
I often put myself in the position to have a conversation with my subjects at some point, in doing so I have generated a mountain of stories to accompany the photos. I have spoken to a man whose mission was to walk all day because his leg was being amputated the next day. Niko, a 72 year-old recovering addict with stage 4 cancer with no health insurance, a quadrapalegic man who lost his shoe, a homeless man who eats from the dumpster behind the Wasabi Bistro on 2nd ave, and a woman with nothing who found her purpose in nursing a near dead pigeon back to health.
I hope that you find some of my photos inspiring. My goal is that you share my website with your friends and family. My intention is not to steal the dignity of fellow human beings but instead to inspire people to be kinder to those struggling, a simple smile can restore ones dignity if even only for a brief moment. Thanks for stopping by....
